AI Product Design

Conversational AI design for real product workflows

Tell us about your project

The Phoenux way

Phoenux designs assistants that live where the work already happens, with the states and failure modes a chat window usually ignores.

Conversational AI design is the work of shaping how people ask, what the assistant is able to do, and what happens when it gets something wrong.

Detail

Beyond the interface

A chat box is not a product decision

Most conversational AI ships as a panel bolted to the corner of the screen, disconnected from whatever the user was doing. It gets opened once and never again.

The problem usually is not the model. It is that the assistant was placed rather than designed, dropped next to the workflow instead of built into it.

What we design

  1. 01

    Where the assistant lives

In the workflow, at the moment of the decision. Not a floating button the user has to remember exists.

  2. 02

What it can and cannot do

Capability made legible up front, so people do not learn the limits by hitting them.

  3. 03

    The states

Thinking, streaming, low confidence, no answer, wrong answer, and sources. All designed, rather than left to whatever the default is.

  4. 04

    Recovery

Correcting a bad answer, rephrasing, and escalating to a human without starting over.

What you get

A workflow-ready AI experience designed around real user needs, with clear states, recovery paths, and inputs that help people get better results.

Deliverable
  1. 01

The assistant designed into the workflow, not beside it

  2. 02

Every state specified, including the ones where the model is unsure or wrong

  3. 03

Recovery and escalation paths, so a bad answer costs a click rather than a customer

  4. 04

Prompt and input design that sets people up to get a good result

  5. 05

An honest recommendation when a conversational interface is not the right shape

Frequently asked questions

Do you build the assistant, or just design it?+

Phoenux designs the experience and can deliver either a build-ready handoff or a working build, depending on your team's capacity. The model and infrastructure choices stay with your engineers. The interaction design is ours.

Our users ignore the chat feature we already shipped. Can that be fixed?+

Usually, and the fix is rarely conversational. Phoenux most often finds the assistant is in the wrong place rather than badly built, and moving it into the workflow where the decision happens does more than any change to the responses.

What if a conversational interface is the wrong answer for us?+

Then Phoenux will say so. Many features shipped as chat work better as a structured input, a suggestion inside an existing flow, or an agent that simply does the task. Unlayer is the example: an open prompt became a guided sequence.
