Makan wanted to change how people discover and reserve parking spaces. Urban parking is a search problem wearing a mobility costume: drivers do not want a map of every lot, they want the nearest available spot they can actually reserve before someone else takes it.
The existing experience across the category was fragmented — static lot listings, no live occupancy signal, and reservation flows that assumed a driver already knew exactly where they were headed. Makan needed discovery, filtering, and booking to work as one continuous decision, not three separate screens a driver has to reconcile mid-drive.
