Overview

When a life story needed a new identity

LifeScript exists around a simple but powerful belief: every life is worth remembering. Its platform helps people turn their memories, experiences, and stories into meaningful autobiography books — making the process accessible beyond the traditional idea that autobiographies are only for the rich or famous.

But the brand needed to communicate that idea more clearly. LifeScript needed a stronger identity and a digital experience that could make storytelling feel personal, approachable, and meaningful — while giving the platform a visual language of its own.

Phoenux partnered with LifeScript to reimagine its brand and website, creating an experience rooted in the emotional value of preserving stories.

Challenges

Making personal stories feel personal online

LifeScript had a distinctive proposition, but its digital presence needed to better communicate the emotion behind it.

The project needed to address several things at once:

  • Strengthen the brand identity and visual direction
  • Create a more engaging website experience
  • Make the product and its process easier to understand
  • Improve user flows and navigation
  • Create a consistent visual language across the platform
  • Build a design system that could scale
  • Ensure the experience worked across different audiences and devices

The challenge wasn't simply to make the website look better. It was to make the digital experience feel as meaningful as the stories LifeScript helps preserve.

Perspective shift

“If the product preserves memories, the brand should feel like something worth keeping.”

We looked beyond conventional health and wellness aesthetics and explored the emotional world surrounding memories, family, legacy, and storytelling. That led us toward a visual direction inspired by something deeply connected to LifeScript itself: the physical book.

Instead of treating the website like another digital commerce experience, we brought elements of the physical storytelling experience into the interface.

Paper-like textures, editorial layouts, handwritten elements, warm imagery, book covers, and organic visual details helped bridge the gap between digital product and physical keepsake.

Transformation

From platform to storytelling experience

Phoenux worked across brand, product, and web design rather than treating them as separate deliverables.

  • The brand direction informed the website
  • The website reinforced the product story
  • And the product experience gave the visual identity a reason to exist

Through research, competitive analysis, personas, user flows, moodboards, wireframes, and design iterations, we shaped an experience that could communicate LifeScript's purpose from the first interaction.

Designing around the book

Bringing a physical storytelling language into digital

The central creative direction was inspired by the physical experience of books.

Rather than simply placing book imagery throughout the website, we used the visual language of paper, pages, editorial layouts, handwritten elements, and printed matter as a foundation for the digital experience.

The homepage moves through these elements organically — introducing LifeScript, explaining how it works, showing different storytelling moments, and eventually bringing users to the books themselves.

The result is a website that feels less like a conventional platform and more like opening the first page of a story.

A brand you can recognize

Turning the identity into a visual system

Typography, color, imagery, illustration, layouts, and graphic elements were brought together into a consistent system.

The identity was also expressed creatively through the logo itself, reinforcing the relationship between LifeScript and the stories people turn into books.

Designing the experience

Making the journey easy to understand

The UX focused on helping users understand what LifeScript offers and how the process works without overwhelming them. We mapped key user flows, structured information around user needs, and refined navigation and content hierarchy through design iterations.

The website guides users through:

  • Understanding the LifeScript concept
  • Learning how the process works
  • Exploring different storytelling possibilities
  • Seeing examples of finished books
  • Understanding the product experience
  • Exploring pricing
  • Moving toward conversion

The goal was simple: make the emotional proposition clear while keeping the experience easy to navigate.

From brand to interface

A UI system that carries the story forward

The interface was designed around the visual direction established during the branding process. We used:

  • Editorial-inspired layouts
  • Warm, approachable typography
  • Organic visual elements
  • Carefully selected imagery
  • Distinctive accent colors
  • Flexible components and layouts
  • Responsive design principles

This created a UI that feels expressive without compromising usability.

Accessibility & inclusivity

Designing for every story

LifeScript's mission is rooted in accessibility: everyone should have the opportunity to preserve and share their story. That principle informed the digital experience.

We applied WCAG guidelines, accessible color palettes, clear language, and flexible font sizing to make the interface easier to use across different audiences and abilities.

The objective was not to make accessibility an additional layer. It was to make the experience welcoming by default.

The result

A stronger brand, a clearer digital experience

Book — Do It Together, Forever

What we're proud of

Making the brand feel like LifeScript

The strongest part of the project was the freedom to move beyond conventional category design.

Because LifeScript's proposition was different, we had room to create something more expressive, using the book itself as a source of inspiration for the brand and digital experience.

From the website's paper-inspired visual language to the identity and book covers, the work creates a consistent connection between the story you tell and the book it becomes.
